At the end of the 1950s, our location really was home to dozens of crowing cockerels. In 1965, the conversion of the former chicken farm was completed and the new pub restaurant was opened.
After Eugen Schick passed away at a far too early age in 1976, his sons Peter and Friedrich gradually took over the establishment. In 1982, plans to reconstruct the restaurant and its guest rooms were realised.
Our very own wine-growing estate was founded in 1990.
In 2003, the third generation of the family, son Felix, took over the management of the restaurant and became its head chef after successfully completing his years as an apprentice and work experience at various restaurants in different locations. He has been treating our guests to delicious dishes featuring top-quality regional produce ever since.
Our establishment’s wonderfully calm and peaceful location in the Deinenbachtal valley, its tastefully decorated rooms and its down-to-earth “fine Swabian cuisine” have helped to make our hotel and restaurant a true success right through to the present day.
More than 25 employees as well as 8-10 trainees take care of our guests.
