Development
In 1982, the new restaurant and guest rooms were completed.
In 1990, the family established its own winery.
Present
After completing his apprenticeship and traveling for experience, his son Felix—now representing the third generation—took over management and responsibility in the kitchen in 2003. Ever since then, he has been delighting his guests’ palates with top-quality regional products.
The wonderfully peaceful location in the Deinbach Valley, the tastefully decorated rooms, and the down-to-earth “fine Swabian cuisine” continue to contribute to the restaurant’s success to this day.
Our On-Site Spring
Christian-Sophien Spring
In honor of our grandfather, Christian Schick. After he retired, he worked as a dowser and well digger. As early as the beginning of the 1950s, he explored and developed not only our spring but also the springs of the Flein settlers in the Leberbrunnen Valley (formerly Lebensbrunnen Valley). Our on-site spring is named after our grandparents: Christian Schick, born March 15, 1893 · died September 2, 1985; Sophie Schick, née Harst, born March 6, 1893 · died October 6, 1982
Employees
More than 25 employees, along with 8–10 apprentices—training to become chefs or restaurant and hotel management professionals—work year-round to ensure the physical and emotional well-being of our guests.
