This extensive system, passed down from generation to generation, requires neither heavy investment nor specialized training. It feeds families, helps cover small expenses, and plays a social role during ceremonies, where poultry is often the centerpiece of communal meals. <\/p>\n\n

The local chicken, often called the \u201cbicycle chicken\u201d in reference to its slender build and agility, dominates village poultry farming in C\u00f4te d\u2019Ivoire.
